Whatever readers see in the opening paragraph they deem to be most important.

Location is paramount. Location drives value in real-estate, retail, and reading. The farther readers get from the opening paragraph, the less value they give the information.

Some of you were taught that the closing paragraph is equally important because it is the last thing people read, and so they must remember it. But readers often don’t get to the last paragraph and if they do they often discount its importance.

State What You Want to Get Done

Keep a business perspective. The opening you choose depends on the tone you wish to create.
